The Great Britain Indian Workers Association has arranged a condolence meeting at Highfields Community Centre, in Leicester, tomorrow, at 6pm. Association secretary Sital Singh Gill described the incident as brutal and shameful. Vow to fight immigration reforms

New regulations which came into effect yesterday mean only those who earn at least £18,600 will be able to bring in a spouse or partner from outside Europe. The Leicester branch of the Indian Workers’ Association, (IWA), said it planned to mount a legal challenge to the reforms. Former Leicester South MP Parmjit Singh Gill A delegation has visited Downing Street to seek support for a campaign against the execution of a prisoner in India. Former Leicester South MP Parmjit Singh Gill and Sital Singh Gill, general secretary of the Indian Workers Association in Leicestershire, spoke to David Cameron about the case of Balwant Singh Rajoana. He is on death row in Punjab for his role in the 1995 murder of then state chief minister Beant Singh, who was killed by suicide bomber Dilawar Singh.
