General secretary of the Indian Workers’ Association, Sital Singh Gill, is standing independently for Councillor in Leicester’s Troon Ward. Alongside his fellow independent candidate Kamlesh Kumari, they pledge to reduce crime & antisocial behaviour in the city, prevent further rises in council tax, and improve public services. The election takes place on Thursday 4th May 2023. The campaign has received international coverage, and is widely supported by the local community.
