Group takes action after UK’s riots

The Indian Workers Association Leicestershire Branch is looking to set up the Safer, Stronger Communities Project to prevent similar events happening again. Leicester riots: Public meeting discusses disorder

Stores were damaged during disorder in Leicester A special meeting has been held in Leicester to discuss the recent riots. The Indian Workers Association of Leicester invited politicians, police, school and religious leaders from the community to the event. They discussed why the troubles broke out in the city and how a repeat could be avoided. Leicester East MP Keith Vaz and Kashmir Singh of the Federation of Sikh Organisations attended the meeting. The Indian Workers Association of Great Britain’s Leicestershire branch, wants to look at ways to stop similar events happening again.
